Agentic work: what it is and why it matters

Agentic work means using a model to coordinate actions towards a goal, rather than only producing a reply. It may plan, call tools, inspect results and recover from errors. None of that guarantees it will finish correctly.
A useful workflow has four parts: a measurable goal, permitted tools, acceptance checks and a boundary it must not cross. For example, an agent might prepare a quote from an approved catalogue, but a person reviews the draft before it reaches a customer.
Start with reversible actions and a small permission set. Keep credentials scoped to the task. Require approval for sending messages, spending money, deleting records or changing production systems. A prompt alone is not a substitute for access controls.
Xavani supplies the agent environment, tools and reusable skills. The operator still chooses the execution backend, connected services and review process. Test those choices in a safe environment before granting access to business records.
Measure time saved alongside errors, review effort and cost per completed task. Stop or narrow the workflow if the review burden outweighs the benefit. Enternovate can help scope a practical automation pilot with acceptance criteria agreed before the build.
